Spring is a great time to visit the Maroochydore. Here’s some of our top things to do during springtime on the Sunshine Coast.

Relax at Beach
Nothing says spring holiday on the Sunshine Coast like spending a day at the beach! Our location directly opposite beautiful Maroochydore Beach is perfect for rolling out of bed and strolling down to the beach to warm your toes in the sand and play in the ocean.  Be sure to swim between the flags!

Taste the Sunshine Coast with a Spring Picnic
Fill your picnic basket with goodies from some of the Sunshine Coast’s amazing food producers and farmers, and then head to the beach, park or hinterland to enjoy your spread.  You could grab some delicious pick-your-own strawberries from McMartin’s Farm Bli Bli (season usually runs June till October), choose fresh seafood from the Mooloolaba Fish Market, grab some club cheddar, feta-style or your favourite soft cheese at Maleny Cheese, and select a bottle of wine from Flame Hill Vineyard … and that’s just a small sample of what’s on offer.

Australia Zoo
Spring is a great time to visit Australia Zoo! Keep your eyes open for the newest Australia Zoo arrivals and if you’re visiting during the school holidays they often have a great program of school holiday activities to enjoy.

Update your Spring/Summer Wardrobe
Enjoy a day out shopping with Sunshine Plaza Maroochydore located on nearby Horton Parade. The large shopping centre offers over 300 shops including major departments stores like David Jones, Myer, Target, Big W and Kmart along with lots of your favourite smaller retailers and boutiques. There is also a BCC Cinema, Timezone, Next Level High Ropes, Red Lock Escape Rooms, Rush Adventureland and lots of great options to grab a bite to eat.  Or time your stay to hit one of the great local Sunshine Coast markets and spend a morning perusing locally made arts, crafts, fashion and more.

See the Plants in bloom at Maroochy Bushland Botanic Gardens
Get back to nature with a walk through the Maroochy Regional Bushland Botanic Gardens during springtime. Open daily with free admission you can explore the gardens on your own or join a guided walk lead by a trained and knowledgeable volunteer.

Watch the Whales
Whale season on the Sunshine Coast runs through until November. If you’re lucky you’ll spot whales frolicking from the beach, or for an up-close experience you can book a whale watching cruise or even swim with the whales with tours departing from Mooloolaba.
